Nigeria unmoved in latest FIFA ranking



Nigeria remained unmoved in its 58th position in the world and 10th on the continent in the latest FIFA rankings released by the international football body on Wednesday. The country's overall points of 523 remained unchanged.
The two other non-movers in the African top ten are Tunisia and Cote D'Ivoire. The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia is ranked seventh on the continent with 625 points while Elephants of Cote D'Ivoire maintained its position as Africa's best team with the same 912 points it had from the last ranking.
The Desert Warriors of Algeria jumped six places to the second position on the continent with 734 points just ahead of the Black Stars of Ghana that moved a place up to the third position with 714 points.
Eagles of Mali was another great mover in the latest rankings. It jumped seven places to the fourth spot with 710 points while Libya's Mediterranean Knights moved up two places to the fifth position with 666 points.  
In spite of missing out of African Cup of Nations once more, the Pharaohs of Egypt is sixth with 634 after moving up two places. African champions, Chipolopolos of Zambia is eighth with 624 points after moving up two places as well.
The Panthers of Gabon is ninth with 617 points. It dropped a place to settle in the new spot that is just a place ahead of the Super Eagles. Top African football teams like The Indomitable Lions of Cameroun, Lions of Senegal and Atlas Lions of Morocco are out of the top ten while hosts of the 2013 AFCON, South Africa dropped seven places to the 19th position on the continent.
Meanwhile, Spain, Germany and England remained unmoved in their positions as the three best teams in the world. Portugal moved a place up to 4th while Uruguay dropped a place to occupy the fifth position. Italy is sixth while Argentina and Netherlands are seventh and eight respectively. Croatia is ninth in the world while Denmark is tenth.
Brazil moved a place up to 12th in the world in the bid to return to the world's top ten.
