Falconets U-20 forward, Francisca Ordega who is
expected to play a key role in Saturday's (September 8) third place match of
the on-going FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup against Japan has distanced herself
from claims of being signed by Swedish Club, Jitex FC.
A report on Swedish site Fotbollskanalen claimed
that Jitex have reached an agreement to sign the player owing to her splendid
performance in Japan.
But the 19-year-old Rivers Angels and Nigeria
forward who has scored four goals in the competition on Thursday described the
claims as false aimed at jeopardizing her football career.
"l have been inundated with calls and mails
from friends, club mates and family relatives back home in Nigeria
congratulating me for what l do not know anything about," said the player.
"It is even more worrisome when there has been
no contact whether verbally or orally with the so-called club in the past or
now. I am extremely sad to hear this," added Ordega.
The club which claims to have an agreement with a
Summer Football Centre in Nigeria said Ordega would be the first player from
Nigeria to be contracted to the club.
She was also described by the club which plays in
the 12-team top flight Damallsvenskan (ladies league) as one blessed with the
right qualities.
