ICAN President, Doyin Owolabi takes the tee-off while other golfers and ICAN staff watch |
The 2012 edition of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) President's Golf Tournament was held on Saturday,
September 8 at the Ikeja Golf Club, Lagos.
This year's edition was held in honour of Adedoyin
Idowu Owolabi, the 48th president of ICAN, who is also an ardent golfer and a
member of the Ikeja Golf Club.
The highly elated Adedoyin, during his short
address, thanked members of the Ikeja Golf Club, in particular, for organising
such a befitting tournament in his honour.
In his words: "I am indeed grateful to you all
for organising such an expensive tournament in my honour. Considering the
quality of prizes displayed here and cash to be given out to winners of
different categories, this is quite remarkable".
He noted that although ICAN-organised golf tourney
is usually held in October during the Annual Accountants' Conference, the
request of Ikeja Golf Club members for a Lagos edition; had to be put into
consideration.
Prizes awarded to winners of different categories
include trophies, golf balls, golf & travel bag special, golf shoes, etc.
The ICAN President went home with a trophy, a cash
prize of N25,000 and an Executive Putting Mat.
NICE ONE SIR
