Super Eagles’ camp for Liberia opens September 30




The Super Eagles will begin camping for the second leg of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2013 qualifiers against the Lone Stars of Liberia on Sunday, September 30.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) spokesperson, Ademola Olajire gave this hint in a chat on a sports programme monitored by our correspondent on Monday.
According to Olajire, Coach Stephen Keshi himself said the local professionals will open the team's preparations two weeks before the match slated for Saturday, October 13.
Foreign professionals will join the camp a week before the match, that is on Saturday, October 6.
Although a venue is yet to be officially named for the team's preparations, it was gathered that the team might camp at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River State, where the all-important encounter will take place.
Coach Keshi has also hinted that West Bromwich Albion striker Peter Odemwingie and Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi are still in his plans. A source quoted him as saying, "Mikel and Osaze are still important."
Meanwhile, the Liberians are planning on a equally early preparations that would include a friendly match. The Teranga Lions of Senegal has been pencilled down as likely opponents.
The Super Eagles on the other hand, are yet to get any such confirmations.
