Aiyenugba set to leave Israel for France

Dele Aiyenugba

Nigeria’s former number one goalkeeper, Dele Aiyenugba is set to leave Israel for Europe to better his lot, we have gathered.
A source in the know confirmed that Aiyenugba has set his sights on France where he hopes to play in the prestigious Ligue 1.
The source disclosed that Aiyenugba’s desire to move away from Israel is based on his poor remuneration with his club Bnei Yehuda.
Aiyenugba, we learnt earns around $45,000 a year, ‘almost the same wages as Falcons legend Maureen Mmadu pockets in Norway,’ the source confirmed.
Aiyenugba, a one-time top safehands for Nigeria’s national team, Super Eagles, has fallen out of favour with the team’s technical crew led by Coach Stephen Keshi. He has been replaced by the likes of Chigozie Agbim of Warri Wolvesn Dan Akpeyi of Heartland and Austin Ejide, who also plies his trade in Israel with Hapoel Be'er Sheva.
It was Ejide, the tall goaltender that manned the posts in the Super Eagles’ 3-1 victory over Venezuela’s La Vinotinto on Wednesday, November 14 in Miami, Florida.
The last Nigerian goalkeeper to dump Israel for France was Eagles vice captain and number one safehands, Vincent Enyeama, who signed with Lille OSC. He eventually returned to Israel after he was benched for a whole season in France.
He is yet to fully recover from the inactivity he was subjected to in the European country.
