Abdullahi, others for National Festival seminar

Minister of Sports and Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Bolaji Abdullahi is one of the many dignitaries expected at the one-day international seminar for the 18th National Sports Festival slated for Lagos on Thursday.
Abdullahi is the special guest of honour of the occasion with Chief Executive Officer of the 2010 South Africa FIFA World Cup Director, Danny Jordaan and Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Development of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Ganda Sithole among the speakers that will deliver papers at the event holding at Muson Centre at Onikan, Lagos.
Also, a lecturer from the University of Kent, United Kingdom (UK), Dr. Sakis Pappous will also be among the speakers.
According to organizers of the event, the essence of the seminar is to raise the profile of sports in Nigeria through mutual understanding and collaboration.
“The seminar is an international sport gathering, which will discuss how to raise the profile of sports in Nigeria through mutual understanding and collaboration and looks at sports within the context of social development and economics,” Secretary-General of the LOC of the festival, Kweku Tandoh said.
He added that some top administrators in the country would also be delivering and leading breakout sessions during the seminar.
Meanwhile, having gone round the country in the last few weeks, the torch of unity for the 18th National Sports Festival tagged Eko 2012 will arrive in Lagos on Saturday.
