American tennis star, Venus Williams has arrived in Lagos, Nigeria for a four-day tour of the metropolitan African city with her sister.

The several-time grand slam touched ground at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in the afternoon before she was whisked away by her manager and the organisers.

She will be joined later in the day by her sister Serena, who had been earlier scheduled to arrive at around 3pm Nigerian time but will now touch down later tonight.

Serena is coming to Lagos from Turkey where she defeated Russia's Maria Sharapova 6-4, 6-3 to win the 2012 Paribas Championship on Sunday.
