Lady golfers tee up for Ikeja Open

About 200 lady golfers today, Wednesday October 24 will tee off at the 2012 edition of Ikeja Golf Club Ladies Championship in Lagos.
Lady Captain of the section, Ruth Oluwatosin while unveiling the plans for this year’s championship over the weekend, said the event would be featuring top lady players from Ikoyi, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Shagamu and Dolphin Golf Clubs.
“It is our delight to host these golfers during this championship and in our bid to make this year’s event bigger we have kept the course at the best possible condition for this season and we believe they will have a very exciting time at the Championship.”
Chinyere Alamu would be gunning for a record fifteenth title, but not without stiff contest from Pamela Wu, Alaba Olatunji, Bunmi Atekoja among others on the ten-hole course.
The championship will begin with a kitty for the ladies while an auction evening is scheduled for Thursday October 25th. The 36-hole contest will follow on Friday, October 26 and Saturday, 27th. “Our event has always been a breeding ground for some of the finest lady players in the country and this event will not miss any of that quality.” She added. The event is supported by GTI Capital, Mutual Benefit, Litramed, Meristem among others.
