Plateau Governor, Jonah Jang ready to host 19th National Sports Festival
Team Plateau has set it sights on a top four finish at the sports festival by the time Games closes on Sunday.
Speaking on Wednesday, Plateau State commissioner for sports and youth development, James Yakubu revealed that the contingent from the middle belt had a set a target of at least fourth place, which is presently occupied by Team Edo, for itself.
He said that Plateau, which as at Wednesday morning was placed seventh would move to the desired fourth position on the medals table in a matter of days.
"We are at number ten, but we looked and said we have to move up and we are now at number seven. You just wait and see us jump to fourth position,"
Meanwhile, the commissioner reiterated the readiness of the state to host the next edition of the Games ahead of fellow bidders, Cross River State. For the current medals table, click here
