Ondo volleyball coach advocates more support for the sport

Team Ondo volleyball coach Adesoji Balogun has called for more support for the sport across the country.
Speaking after his team dispatched a hard-fighting Imo team 3-1 at the ongoing Sports Festival, Coach Balogun noted sadly that the sport has not been receiving as much attention as it should in other states of the Federation.
“As you can see from the game we just played against Imo, many of these states still have a lot to learn about the game and to invest too,” he said.
But he was full of praises for the government of Ondo State which he claimed has been so supportive of the sport in the state. This, he noted was responsible for the team’s good results at the last Sports Festival in Rivers where the state won the volleyball gold medal.
“I must express my happiness with the support the sport has been receiving from the Ondo State Government. This is responsible for our results as everyone can see.”
The state was ranked eighth on the medals table at the beginning of sporting activities on Tuesday with 15 medals that comprised 4 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze.
