Congress Committee CONFIRM PDP Southwest Zonal Congress To Go Ahead, NWC Releases Venues

Contrary to earlier reports that the Southwest Zonal Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scheduled to hold in Akure, Ondo State has been cancelled, the the Congress Committee as revealed that it will hold as scheduled, 

Secretary of Chief Iloh Henry told journalists at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja this evening that the committee did not receive any instruction from the National Chairman of the party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff or any member of the National Working Committee, cancelling the Congress.

He said he was already in possession of the Congress materials and that he was proceeding to Akure, venue of the Congress to join other members of the committee who are there already.

In confirmation of the Committee's words, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP has released approved venues for the Zonal Congresses slated for Saturday 14 May, 2016.

They are:-

1. South-West Zonal Congress Venue: The Dome, Akure, Ondo State

2. South-East Zonal Congress Venue: Okpara Square, Enugu, Enugu State

3. North-Central Zonal Congress Venue: Apo Town Hall, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

4. North-West Zonal Congress Venue: Kaduna Trade Fair Complex, Kaduna, Kaduna State

5. North-East Zonal Congress Venue: Jalingo, Taraba State 6. South-South Zonal Congress Venue: Dr. Obi Wali International Conference, Port Harcourt, Rivers State

The party noted that any Zonal Congress(s) conducted in any other venue apart from the ones listed above will not be acceptable.
