Manchester City Superstar, Samir Nasri In SHOCKING License Scandal!

Samir Nasri
Manchester City superstar, Samir Nasri is one of 300 people who have been accused of buying a driver's license from a company in Paris without passing a test.

According to popular French publication, Le Parisien, the Nanterre Prefecture driving school, in the Neuilly-sur-Seine region of the French capital, where Nasir got his papers, sold licences for up to €8,000 (£6,300) to a number of footballers, celebrities and public figures - including the 28-year-old - between 2013 and 2015.

According to the report, the driving school manager and three civil servants spent 48 hours in custody over the incident and will now face an investigating judge.
Nasri, who has struggled with injuries this year, was pulled over in a Manchester council estate in March as he drove his £330,000 Lamborghini supercar.
The 200mph motor was not registered to drive in the United Kingdom and was subsequently impounded by police.
Nasri was pictured leaning back against a brick wall as officers waited to take the vehicle.
Both upwards-opening doors were raised as officers inspected the vehicle while Nasri grabbed his belongings.
Nasri has recently returned to City training and could feature in the final Premier League game of the season at Swansea tomorrow.

NLC: Nationwide Strike Begins NEXT WEEK, if…

Cars queuing for fuel in a typical sight in Nigeria this year.
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has said that it would begin a nationwide strike from next week should the Federal Government fail to reverse the fuel price hike it announced earlier this week.

The strike is to protest the 67% increase of fuel which they claim will cause untold hardship for workers who did not get a commensurate increase in minimum wages as earlier proposed by the unions.

“If by midnight on Tuesday next week the government fails to reverse the price of petrol to 86.50 naira per litre, we will have no other option than to order workers to begin an indefinite strike from Wednesday,” Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) general secretary Peter Ozo-Eson told AFP. He said the decision was taken after a meeting of both the NLC and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) — the two umbrella organisations for Nigerian workers.

“We have directed our affiliates and civil society allies to mobilise their members for the impending showdown with government over this anti-people policy,” he said. Ozo-Esson said the proposed strike was also to force government to reverse a recent hike in the electricity tariff in the energy-starved country which generates just around 4,000 megawatts for a population of more than 170 million people. The unions said businesses including banks, airports, seaports, markets and government offices would be shut during the strike.

Interestingly, a statement from oil workers union, NUPENG and PENGASSAN said they were in support of the removal of subsidy by the FG which subsequently jerked fuel price to N145 from N86.40 but only on the grounds that their minimum wage be increased to N90,000.

A communique at the end of the meeting read:

The NEC-in-Session after an exhaustive deliberation of all these resultant effects, resolves that, there is an urgent need for a paradigm shift and a new direction in the management of new investment and income in the oil and gas industry, but with critical proviso, among which include:
• Government must ensure optimal performance of the existing refineries and also put in place machinery for the construction of new refineries in the country to ensure adequate production for domestic consumption and possibly export
• Immediate commencement of negotiation of minimum wage for workers across all cadres.

Nigeria raised the price of petrol to 145 naira ($0.73) per litre on Wednesday after months of fuel shortages caused by a foreign exchange shortage.

FIFA Doubles NFF Earnings to $5.5m

FIFA President, Gianni Infantino
World football governing body, FIFA has increased its allocations to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and other member football associations to double the former amount.

Member countries attending the first Congress under President Gianni Infantino agreed to a new budget that will see them receive $5.5 million (N1.09bn) every four years, more than double what the received in the previous budget.

According to ESPN, under the new law, the FAs will get more funds to cater to the sport in their various countries.

“Under the new financial arrangements for 2015-18 (FIFA works on a four-year World Cup-to-World Cup cycle), each FIFA country will receive around $5.5m (for a combined total of $1.5 billion). That represents a significant increase over the current amount, which is between $2.2-$2.5m over four years, or even more, depending on which projects are approved for funding. The money is delivered through initiatives such as the Financial Assistance Programme and Goal, which are designed to develop football amongst FIFA nations.

“Additional funds of up to $250,000 per year are also being made available to cover travel costs and provide training equipment for FIFA's poorest nations,” ESPN reports.

With the increasing in money to member countries, Infantino has fulfilled a key part of his election campaign and subsequent victory in February.
