Pillars falls 1-0 to Akwa United



.As Heartland crushes Kaduna 4-1

Defending champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Kano Pillars suffered its first defeat this season away to Akwa United in Uyo.
Pillars, one of the country’s representatives in the ongoing CAF Champions League fell 1-0 on Sunday to the Uyo side.
Kaduna United suffered a worse fate while playing away at Heartland in Owerri. It was handed a comprehensive 4-1 hiding by the Naze Millionaires that suffered a humiliating defeat to Nembe City in its first match of the season.
El Kanemi Warriors of Borno also fell 2-0 to Aba Giants, Enyimba International FC in Aba while Wikki Tourists of Bauchi was also handed a 2-0 defeat by Bayelsa United in Yenagoa.
Lobi Stars of Makurdi went down 3-1 to Shooting Stars at Ibadan while Sunshine Stars defeated visiting Gombe United 3-2 in Akure and ABS pipped visiting Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt 1-0.
Kwara United, one of the four teams that went into Sunday’s game unbeaten alongised Pillars, Sunshine and El-Kanemi came out unscathed after picking up a tough 1-0 win away to Sharks.
The remaining Week Three matches between Rangers International of Enugu and Warri Wolves of Delta and between Nasarawa United and Nembe City would be played today, Monday.
